It’s absolutely possible to deal with the check, and doors *should* be held open for both sexes, but when it comes to sexualised interactions (or flirting, especially with physical interaction) in my experience, even most feminists prefer men who appear to be “in control”, who are confident in their sexual value and who are able to allow women to let themselves fall into their desire without being confronted with their own slut/sexual-self-determination double bind. It’s not the check, it’s not the doors. It’s in the male touch, it’s in the male concept of sexual self-worth.
